Scale Off Road Jamboree Empty
PostSubject: Scale Off Road Jamboree   Scale Off Road Jamboree I_icon_minitimeSat Apr 04, 2009 3:29 pm

Here is an event no RC Crawler should miss..

Scale Off Road Jamboree 2rf4wle

Event Rules
Basically folks, the 1:1 off road scene has gone to on thought of ground so its pretty open.
Drive shaft driven scale trucks (Sorry no Monster trucks)

Tires; determined buy scale of truck, to a maximum of scale 55''
(So 5.5 on 1/10 scale truck is acceptable. 6.8 on an 1/8th truck etc..)

Track width; Lets face it, no one says you can't put rockwells under your Zuki. But lets try and keep it with in reason.
( most courses will be built around the typical 10.5 track width though. Just something to keep in mind.)

Wheelbase; No limit. build what ever works best for you.

Body requirements; A lot of guys just need a place to get out of the weather, so...
Other than full tube buggys, minimum body will be a cab and hood.
(exception to the hood will be allowed if a scale motor is showing)

Tow hooks/mounting points; Front and back points optional ,rear point mandatory for any trucks competing in the mud bog.

4wheel steer; Have at it!

"dig"; Allowed for 2WD/4WD only. no front dig.

Trucks running in scale class will not be allowed batteries on the axles

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trail run
A trailed course consisting of hill climbs, rock crawling, bridge crossings, mud holes etc..
(waterproofing HIGHLY recommended)

Mud bog
Man made pit. **Not your average mud puddle**
Pit length to be announced, but will be in the 10FT plus mark.
Trucks will be tied off with a recovery rope and pulled back if unable to make full run.
Unlimited class
(waterproofing HIGHLY recommended!!)

Tuff Truck Challenge
A series of obstacles that will put truck and driver to the ultimate test.
Just like the big boys, we will be using the TTC events as a basis for the courses.
Hill climb
Mud pit
Tow test
Mini Rubicon
Obstacle course
Tank trap
Fame twister

Show-N-Shine
Classes to be announced... Swap meet to be held during

Thanks for the exposure man.
I do have to say those rules are for the whole weekend but not for the TTC. The TTC has its own set of rule and you must register for that part of the weekend.
As well the poster does show a demo derby. But due to time restraints it will not be happening.

Here are the TTC rules etc.

TTC Rules
Scale shaft driven trucks only. (1/10th and 1/8th scale)

Tires/wheels
OEM tires (meaning any tire you can buy of the shelf up to 5.5'' tall)
No wheel restrictions.

Track width
No width restriction, but courses will be based around the 10.5 width. (something to keep in mind)

Wheel base
No wheel base restriction.

"Dig"
Your truck may have a dig setup, but it must not be used during the TTC.

Rear/4wheel steer
Allowed (possibly a good idea to have )

Axle mounted servos
Allowed ( due to 1/1 hydro steer units)

NO Axle mounted batteries

Must have a frame
Must extend to center of front and rear axle. (No crawler chassis)-CR-O1 the exception

Winches
HIGHLY recommended
If you do not have some sort of winch you may have a hard time getting threw some events.

Body
Must have min. Cab, and hood ( If no hood then a scale motor in proper location)

Wheel weights
No restriction.

Water proofing HIGHLY recommended!!
I say highly because there will be lots of mud and no alternate routes.

Events

Hill Climb
A steep curvy climb with loose dirt and deep holes.
Timed event.

Mud Pit
15' of the soupiest mud in Alberta.
Scored on distance and time.

Tow Test
Towing a weighted truck up a 16' incline.
Scored on distance and time.

Mini Rubicon
12' of piled rocks (big little and everything in between)
Timed event.

Obstacle Course
A little of everything. (tight turns, rocks, mud, hills etc..)
Timed event.

Frame Twister
A U shaped course that works both man and machine.
Work your way threw Big rocks, tight turns, mud, and of course the ''Log run''
Timed event.

The Tank Trap
The most grueling test of parts yet!
A steady incline of a trail with everything but the kitchen sink.
Trenches, mud, rocks etc.... Winching will be a must.
This is a timed/distance event. With points for this course being worth double every other event.

"I just thought I should clear up any questions some of you may have.

I has come to my attention that some people think that this is a ''sponsored'' event. Although, yes there are quite a few people ''sponsoring'' their time and efforts, the majority of these are of the raffle truck. Which was for the purposes of raising money for this event.
But as for all the other costs incurred to put this event on, it is all coming out of myself and RCGeek's pocket. That includes rentals for equipment to construct the grounds, T-shirts, porta-pottys etc...etc...

Again I would like to thank everyone that has/is committed to helping with this event be it time, products what have you;
Crawl Canada
Metal Fume Fabrication
BrightEyez LED Lighting
Showcase Comics
Fine Tuned hobbies
Ricks House "O" Stuff
Jowett's Kustom RC
Ensia performance RC
Mico Engineering
canadianlimitededition
Avalon Hobbies
MEDiC MEDiA PRODUCTiONS

As well as the many individuals that have offered to volunteer on the weekend.

But as much as we struggled with having a registration fee, the raffle truck clearly not going to cover the costs.
So it has come out of necessity to have registration, to put on what we hope will be the best event this summer.

Now again this is only for the TTC portion of the event. This does not have anything to do with attending the weekend itself.

Sorry if this was long winded but I just wanted to let everyone know, we are in no way trying to make money off this event! We just want to provide a good time for everyone.

Thank you."

Troy

This is what was posted over at CC, i am sending him my 25 bucks this friday along with something for the scale raffle truck found "TTC RAFFLE TRUCK BUILD", if he wants something else from "Twisted Links" i will find out for sure.

I had sent one to them directly but I don't know if they would have out it up or not. I never really heard back from them.
